Employee Numbers in Technology Park

Total persons (fulltime, part-time and casuals) employed in UBTP currently totals 1479,

associated with the following enterprises and University ‘business incubation' centres:

• IBM Australia
• Emergency Services Telecommunications Centre
• ID Research
• State Revenue Office
• Ambulance Victoria
• Greenhill Enterprise Centre
• Global Innovation Centre

The following advice is provided in relation to the aggregate UBTP employee numbers:

• It is anticipated that the total numbers of employees within the Emergency Services Telecommunications Centre (ESTA) will significantly increase within the near future. The recent Victorian bushfires highlighted some deficiencies with 000 call taking, and anticipated changes are likely to positively impact staffing levels at ESTA
• The new IBM IT Services Centre will become operational later this year (October) with an initial employee intake of 100 employees across year one. The building will ultimately accommodate 370 employees across a number of years
• Based upon the above, it is anticipated that 2000 persons will be employed in the UBTP within the next 3 years.
